06-02-05 :: New CD!
Happy new year and all that bollocks. Just a quick one to say we're well into pre-production of the new cd tracks. Yep, i realise we've only just done the first one but now there's another on the way! We should be heading into the studio in a month or so to get the following tracks down: Galapogos, Monkey Music and Osmium. I'm sure there'll be some remix madness on there too.

05-12-05 :: [interesting new title here]!
Just realised I've been slack and not mentioned our next gig and it's also our CD launch too! We're playing The Joiners in Southampton on Sunday 11 Dec with those rock superstars, Cubic Space Division. Support comes in the form of local bands ThisSeptemberFire and Fatal Argument. If you're lucky we'll do some kind of special deal on our EP.

26-10-05 :: Git yoore CDs! They're luvverly!
You can now purchase our new EP online from this very site! Until I sort a merch section, you can get them on the MP3 page. If you have any troubles with this, email us and let us know what's up.

25-10-05 :: Beware the many-goated box!
Look at the rather disturbing sight that awaited me earlier. Which means we have CDs! Expect some kind of merch page to appear soon!

24-10-05 :: We're number one!
We're currently the number one a'cappella band on numberonemusic.com! However, we're only about 100 in the metal charts, so go there and listen to us. Go on! Feed our egos and also raise our profile amongst random interweb peeps. In other news, our cd is being manufactured as we speak. In other other news, keep your eyes peeled for a potentially massive december gig! No more on that until it's confirmed. If it doesn't happen, keep your eyes peeled anyway, since we will be playing Southampton again then regardless and trying to foist CDs on you all! Mmm... foist.

18-9-05 :: Down t'pit...
We're on the playlist for The Pit on Unsigned Band Radio so check them out.

12-9-05 :: Soho far, Soho good!
Cheers to everyone who saw us in London - I hope your ears are in a better state than ours! In keeping with tradition, things didn't go entirely smoothly with Kai getting a flat tire and needing to change his wheel. Today's piece of advice is: always make sure you have all the parts of the jack in your car!

06-9-05 :: Kiss MySpace!
We've set up a listening post on MySpace for those of you wanting to hear the entire EP. You can check it out here: myspace.com/ratherband. Oh, and you can come and be our friend and all that bollocks. Now we just need a LiveJournal and we need never leave the house again...

23-8-05 :: EP EP EP EP EP
I know this might come as a shock to regular visitors (and us too), but our five track EP is done! It clocks in at 29 mins so you could almost call it a mini-album. Some new MP3's are up, so delete any of the unmastered ones if you've got them. Check back soon and we should have some kind of online purchase doohicky working.

22-8-05 :: More Hastings, Less Speed
Ah, Hastings. You'll always have a special place in our hearts. Click here for Steve's account of our adventures.

14-8-05 :: Better Reading than deading
Cheers to everyone who saw us in Reading. We had a lot of fun. It's great to get such a good reception from people who've not seen us. Reading truly is the land of plenty since we also found a bag of weed on the pavement down the road! Let's see what Hastings brings on thursday! We also have a gig in Soho soon so make sure you there for that - you can restock your porn at the same time.

Also, check out the MP3 section for another one of our unmastered MP3s.

25-7-05 :: CD and travel
CD is finally done! It'll be available just as soon as we get the damn thing mastered. Track listing will probably be as follows:

  1. Pissing in the Corner
  2. Mushroom
  3. The Naked Ventriloquist
  4. Catharsis for the Delusional Elitist
  5. Catharsis for the Delusional Elitist (Tsar remix)
We've also got some out of town gigs coming up so make sure you get your arse down if you happen to be in Hastings or Reading!

18-5-05 :: Thanks and Metal!
A big thanks to everyone who came out last night! For those of you who didn't, make sure you check out Byzantine, D-rail and Indica if you get a chance! We're gonna take some time out from playing Southampton now until we've sorted some more songs out. We'll be continuing to gig out of town (we have a date in Bournemouth in July with Summa and Mea Culpa) and getting our CD finished (just need to tweak the mix on two songs, which we'll be doing on bank holiday weekend, and master the thing).

2-4-05 :: Metal nuts
In case you missed Friday's Daily Echo, check out what the nice newspaper man wrote:

SOUTHAMPTON metal nuts Rather have got more rock in their riffs than a geologist's lunch box and they're playing The Joiners on Sunday night alongside Through These Lies and Reserved for Nothing

Bound by their mutual love of heavy metal and a simmering appetite to lead the rock revolution from the front Rather have earned a stinging reputation for mosh frenzied gigs and raging tunes. Don't miss the city's hottest four piece performing live this weekend.
